Ep #36 7 Ways to End a School Year: Tips for Special Educators
As special educators, we often have hearts bigger than the typical human, therefore causing us to worry more about our students...about our duties...about next year...well...almost everything really.
But we can't do that to ourselves. We deserve to be able to take a break from our stressful jobs, reconnect with family and friends and decompress over the summer break.
And I'm going to show you how!
Today's episode has me flying solo and giving you all the juicy tips I use to help me close out one school year while intentionally planning for the next so that I can take the summer off guilt free.
You can listen into the show to hear all about how I use these 7 tips to end each year...
- Have a conversation with each member of your staff
- Make sure all your paperwork is turned in
- Make a back to school to-do list
- Put important items in an easy to remember location (and write yourself a note where it is...just in case the easy to remember location becomes easier to forget)
- Make a list of students you will have next year and make notes of any major needs of the child
- Make a note for yourself about the things that need to be top of mind as soon as school reconvenes
- Get some closure (unlike last year when life went to hell in a handbasket)
