Episode 89: The Importance of Being Coachable

The best teachers are those who are constantly questioning their practice and reflecting on how to improve. But just like individuals in other fields, teachers need personal and professional coaching.

We need someone in our corner who “gets” us… who speaks our language and asks us the questions we need to answer in order to unlock our unique strengths and to give us support to improve our weaknesses.

Being coachable- even if it makes you feel vulnerable- is the secret

to achieving your dreams.

On today's episode of the Sped Prep Academy Podcast I want you to understand the importance of being willing to be coached…whether that’s from someone in your district, whether it’s from someone like me who has years and years of experience, or from someone else online.

Being coachable is one of life's most important skills and attitudes. If you're any kind of person who wishes to grow, learn, improve, excel or perform at your peak, you should care about whether or not you're coachable.

In other words, being coachable relates to a happy, productive life. It means you're ready to do what it takes to change, transform, improve or excel, whatever that means for you and your situation.

Listen in to today's show as I explain what being coachable ISN'T, what it IS, how instructional coaches in your district can assist you in learning how to be great!
