Episode #80: 3 Things I Wish I'd Had as a New Teacher

I'm sorry if I've been a disservice to you.

My goal as someone who provides mentorship to other special educators is to SERVE you. To teach you. To help you grow both personally and professionally.

But it looks like I've dropped the ball.

Not telling you about these things is providing a disservice to you!

I am an avid podcast listener myself and the other day I heard a fellow teacherpreneur talking about Teachers Pay Teachers and how if you have a store and you don’t promote your store or you don’t let other people know about your products then you are doing a disservice to them.

For me, I’ve always tried to intentionally keep this podcast and the TpT stores separate. I might mention a product every now and then but for the most part it has been intentional that I don’t sell to you and the reason I’ve done that is because I’m not a salesperson…I’m a teacher.

My mentality has been, if you want it you’ll buy it and if you don’t you won’t and I’m okay with that.

But now I have that podcaster’s words stuck in my brain.

Doing a disservice.

And I think I’m starting to finally understand it. If I have things I’ve created that could benefit you and make your life easier and even make your job even a little less stressful…and I’m not telling you about it…I AM doing a disservice to you. I AM failing you as a mentor.

How can I possibly expect you to grow professionally and personally if I’m not sharing with you how I have grown professionally and personally in the field of special education.

So on today's episode, I share with you 3 of my all-time favorite products and describe in detail how they've helped me overcome hurdles within my position as a special educator.
